Electric vehicle battery technology experts present main takeaways from new FISITA white paper, writes Martin Kahl
The term “EV chasm” describes the challenge facing automakers, suppliers, and policymakers around the world, namely the gap between the early adopter phase and the ubiquitous uptake of electric vehicles – a topic addressed in a recent FISITA webinar.
How to bridge the EV chasm is the subject of an upcoming FISITA white paper produced by the FISITA Battery Technology Expert Group, which has explored how advancements in battery and EV technologies can accelerate market momentum, bridge the chasm, and propel the industry forward.
As explained in the white paper, “The electric vehicle industry is currently confronting a pivotal challenge: the EV chasm. This phase of stagnation marks the shift from early adopter enthusiasm to mass-market adoption. Successfully navigating this chasm is critical to unlocking widespread EV adoption.”
Battery Technology is one of the groups in the FISITA portfolio of Expert Groups, led by group chair Dr Jeonghun Seo, Head of Battery System Design at Hyundai Motor Company.
