Dear colleague

April has been a productive month: in addition to the regular activities, we held a meeting of the FISITA Executive Board while I was in Detroit two weeks ago, and then subsequently a meeting of the FISITA (UK) Ltd Board last week. With a focus on advancement of the new-era strategy, and forward planning, I shared the next steps of the FISITA strategy with members of both boards. It was really encouraging to receive positive feedback and the continued trust and confidence of both boards, demonstrating that our vision and member-led approach for the new-era is making good progress and meeting the expectations of our community.

Right now, our main priorities remain the focus on the relevant growth, engagement and retention of Corporate Members, and the continued development and maturity of the expert working groups initiative, building a beneficial, new-era relationship with each Society Member, and, of course, continuing to deliver high quality through the updated programme of in-person events.

As the premier membership organisation for international automotive and mobility systems engineering professionals, FISITA’s mission is to create collaborative thought leadership and support to the world’s mobility systems engineers, helping them to achieve their goals and continue to push the boundaries of technology while maintaining high ethical standards, delivering continuous improvement and enabling progress that will benefit society.

To support with the delivery of our objectives, we will shortly be introducing the FISITA Ambassador Programme with a key representative positioned within a number of strategic locations. This initiative will raise awareness of FISITA’s work within different geographies. Ambassadors will serve as FISITA advocates, promoting our initiatives and benefits to stakeholders within the automotive and mobility systems engineering sector.

As a reminder, membership is open to corporate entities, national engineering societies, and partner associations. You can contact Julie Geraud, Chief Engagement Officer, for more information on any matter relating to FISITA membership and engagement opportunities.

A key aspect of FISITA’s professional offering is the FISITA expert Working Groups initiative, which, via online delivery, provides FISITA members the opportunity to efficiently join their industry peers for highly relevant, pre-competitive discussions around a selected topic of relevance.

Facilitated by FISITA and led by a Chair selected from within the group, each working group meets regularly online to advance dialogue which enables thought leadership and outcomes, such as publication of white papers. The FISITA Working Groups cover a wide range of topics, including battery technology, carbon neutral mobility, circular economy, digitalisation, industry disruption, and intelligent safety, and we’re exploring opportunities to add to the working group portfolio in areas such as advanced chassis technology, automated vehicles, commercial vehicles and international value chains.

If you are interested in joining a FISITA working group or would like more information about existing or future FISITA working groups, please contact Martin Kahl, Chief Technology Officer.

All the best

Chris Mason
CEO
