The current focus of the FISITA Battery Technology Expert Group is on the development of battery technologies that are economically and environmentally sustainable, and offer performance at a price point that meets customer expectations.
In a global market preparing for the widespread adoption of electric vehicles over the long-term, fluctuations in near-term sales act as a necessary checkpoint for battery industry stakeholders seeking to produce everything from battery components to fully assembled battery packs.
Led by Jeonghun Seo of Hyundai Motor Company, membership of the FISITA Battery Technology expert group spans the battery value chain, with members sharing common goals: to increase battery density and cost efficiency; to continue to improve battery safety in the face of ever stricter safety regulations; and to further optimise the carbon impact of batteries across their full lifecycle, especially in the production phase.
